Inventory and resources: what to keep at launch
A fact-checked method for evaluating materials in the current Early Access build, without pretending Steam already published an inventory meta.
Part of: Survival hub
What official sources confirm
Breathedge 2 is built around scavenging resources and turning them into equipment and upgrades. Official announcements also confirm looting, crafting, repairing, and dismantling as part of the current Early Access loop. That is why inventory pressure shows up early: every useful object competes with the next discovery for carry space.
What the store page does not tell you
Current first-party material does not provide a dependable inventory limit, stack table, storage rule, or material priority list. It also does not establish whether crafting can consume items directly from storage. Those are high-value questions for the live build, not facts this page can fill in from search demand.
One labelled exception lives on its own page: community notes treat Ice as shared between drinking water and oxygen crafting, so that page says to reserve a stack for air before bottling the pile. This page stays the general method.
- Ice uses and priorities — Community · one material split, not a full keep list
A safe first-session method
Use the recipe and blueprint interfaces in the current Early Access build as the authority. Note which materials recur across immediate survival equipment, keep enough return capacity for new discoveries, and test storage behavior before planning long collection runs. This is a method for learning the build, not a claimed list of best items.
- Check whether storage exists and whether crafting can pull from it
- Keep empty space for the return trip instead of filling every slot on the way out
- Prioritize materials that appear on the blueprints you can already see
- Treat a one-off junk item as optional until a recipe on screen asks for it
What to verify next
A later revision can publish capacity, stack sizes, storage locations, craft-from-storage behavior, and a dated must-keep list. Until those are checked in the current Early Access build, do not copy first-game or demo inventory habits as if they were still true.
How this guide is maintained
Breathedge 2 Guide treats official store and developer pages as the primary source of truth. Current-build community evidence can answer gaps the developers have not documented, but it is clearly labelled, attributed, and checked against conflicting reports.
Exact routes, recipes, timers, and balance values are dated when verified. If a detail is still uncertain, the guide says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.
